I sometimes find, in a crystal clear moment of serendipity, words that for a while help me stop beating myself up for not doing enough or for doing too much. And, guess what. You can’t ever “win” or feel like you are enough with those two opposing views in your head! I read a bit of comfortqueen.com and found the following tranquilizer….
“There are times when we get stuck because we have forgotten how to create. We believe we have to know exactly what we are doing before we can do anything — we have to know our brand mission, our ideal customer, have a snazzy logo; We have to know our big life vision, our soul purpose, have a cute tag line; We especially have to know where we will end up before we can begin.”
I am not a follow-the-crowd type person but in this instance it gave me a great deal of comfort to know that there are others out there like me. Others who struggle with issues of creating and moving forward…….creating and standing still. It is often impossible to recognize that a day off away from the computer, away from Photoshop, away from CorelDraw is exactly the creative sludge of which so many great ideas come.
